Aeronautics and Jet Engines
For several years Pietro Carnaghi is present in the field of jet engine component machining, supplying its machinery to the most important Aero Groups.
Pietro Carnaghi vertical lathes are involved in the production of many of the components related to the most sophisticated aeronautic projects, for the engines equipping most of the recent new planes.
Machining of: disks, casings, drums, and rings, that require capability of turning, milling, drilling, grinding on materials such as inconel and titanium.
In addition Pietro Carnaghi contributed in developing applications in the use of high pressure coolant, with support of tool makers and university research. Coolant pressure up to 350 and 750 bar (5000 and 10.800 psi) are used with the purpose to control the chip and to optimize its impact on the machining.
